Stars at this year’s Met Gala may have thought the event was all fun and games, until someone took a selfie. Vogue magazine’s latest issue, a special edition honoring the Gala’s most stylish stars, boasts Rihanna on the cover, along with the names of several other ultra-glamorous celebrities. One star noticeably absent from the bunch was Kim Kardashian-West, who was named one of the magazine’s best-dressed stars. So, why the snub? We can only assume it had a little something to do with Kim’s failure to abide by Anna Wintour’s strict “no selfies” rule. The editor-in-chief of the magazine banned social media photos of the event, though many stars paid no mind.
While Kim was dished a major diss by the magazine, Rihanna is riding high on her Vogue cover girl status. The beauty took to social media to share the cover with fans, writing: ‘WOW!!! I am very honored to have this image selected for the new cover of @voguemagazine !! #metgala2015#art #fashion #Vogue [sic]’
Among the night’s best-dressed stars, Rihanna’s dress was designed by Chinese designer Guo Pei.
How did Anna feel about the far-out frock?
‘I really want to tell you about this dress,’ she told Seth Meyers on his late night show. ‘Because Rihanna is such a star.’
‘She surfed the internet looking for this, and this was designed by a famous, famous Chinese designer Guo Pei. It apparently took one Chinese person two years to make this dress.’
Well, that’s certainly one way to make an entrance.
