The Taylor Swift/Katy Perry feud shows no end in sight, but that doesn’t mean things aren’t heating up. Things are about to get a whole lot more tense, we presume, as Katy Perry has just beat out Tay-Tay for the top spot on Forbes’ list of the biggest-earning performers of the past year. In a report appearing in the July 20 issue of Forbes, it’s said that the 30-year-old raked in $135 million over the last 12 months.
‘I’m not here to brag,’ Katy has said of her career. ‘I’m here to inspire other females.’
As one of music’s biggest proponents of female empowerment, Katy said, ‘I am proud of my position as a boss, as a person that runs my own company…I don’t want to shy away from it. I actually wanted to kind of grab it by its balls.’
You go, Katy!
With more than 11 million albums and 81 million singles sold throughout her successful career, Katy’s popularity has become global.
One person who may not be too happy about Katy’s success is a scorned Taylor Swift, whose video for her most recent single, Bad Blood, was a not-so-subtle message to Katy. It’s rumored that Katy made a major misstep when she attempted to steal Taylor’s dancers for a tour. Never one to take diss lying down, Taylor brought in her most famous gal pals for the video, whose accompanying song is allegedly directed at Katy. Will these two ever patch things up? Whose side are you on? Katy or Taylor? Discuss!
