Last nights I heart music awards were filled with loads of laughs and entertainment but not every joke went over so well with audiences. Jamie Foxx made some not so nice jokes at Bruce Jenner’s expense, resulting in the media labeling him as transphobic.
“(He) will be here doing a his and hers duet by himself,” Foxx told the audience with a photo of the reality star dad up behind him.
Fans promptly took to Twitter voice their disappointment in Foxx’s jibes, with many saying he crossed the line.
Jenner has undergone a load of media scrutiny in recent months. From his transition into a woman to a recent car crash that killed one woman and injured others, the weight of said scrutiny may very well become too much to bear. Between Foxx’s cruel remarks to Jenner’s personal life involving Kris Jenner’s jealousy over his canoodling with her best friend, Jenner doesn’t seem to have enough support behind him during this difficult time. One person behind Bruce is his son, Burt Jenner, who defended his dad against Foxx’s jabs.
“I think he is just copying Kevin Hart because Kevin Hart is taking all his movie opportunities. He’s copying him — man’s on a roll and Jamie Foxx is on the way down. [Hart’s] got his mojo going so he’s got to copy what’s working,” Jenner said.
[Hart] did it in front of my sister [Kendall Jenner]— he got lucky. He can make jokes about my dad all he wants but he can’t make jokes in front of my sister and make my sister feel awkward.”
When asked what he would have done at the event, Burt admitted he would “have charged the stage,” he predicted. “If security got to me beforehand, I would’ve thrown something at him.”
Ouch. No apology yet from Foxx.
